Reflection is born from a wish to highlight the basic components of a lamp: the light source and the shade. I chose to make them both visible by separating the light source from the shade.
In the designing of Reflection, I wanted to create a simple, elegant, and timeless design. Reflection therefore stems from an interest into creating an object that has long lasting qualities. For me getting closer to timelessness is about understanding the essence of an object and trying to reach that essence through honesty and simplicity. I work with elegance as the combination of lightness and definition, sharpness and softness. I wanted to harness all these qualities in Reflection.
